We are a rapidly growing Insurance Agency located in Annapolis and we are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated person to direct and manage our Personal Lines Department. This individual must have a minimum of 10 years of agency experience and also be proficient in sales. This is a management position and we are seeking a highly motivated person to help us grow our dynamic agency.

Minimum Qualifications
Ten or more years of agency experience, proficient in sales, have an agent’s property, casualty, life & health license, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal & written). Must be proficient in the use of computers and office software, have a college degree, a demonstrated & proven track record in sales & service, a minimum of 3 years experience managing teams and have a passion for performance and developing success in others.
Primary Functions
- Overall accountability for the financial and human performance of the Personal Lines department
- Actively strives to meet or exceed the company’s performance objectives
- Provides leadership over the Company’s personal insurance department
- Responsible for development and execution of the strategy in achievement of the department’s sales goals
- Manage the Account Managers, assess their training needs, facilitate continuous improvements in enhancing their abilities and the overall client experience
Summary of Major Responsibilities
- Directs and manages personal lines Account Manager’s sales & service activities
- Works with Executive Leadership Team in providing direction and development for personal lines Account Managers
- Develops and executes strategies and plans to achieve sales goals and underwriting profitability
- Works within assigned department operating budget
- Accountable for preparing, communicating and delivering against sales forecasts, customer retention and account rounding targets
- Works with carrier representatives to ensure Account Manager’s are adequately equipped to sell and service their products
Adherence to prevailing company policies - Assists Executive Leadership Team (President, Vice-President & Office Manager) in the implementation of sales, servicing & underwriting projects
- Works with Commercial & Life departments in referring & rounding-out accounts
- Develops and mentors personal lines department to meet individual and team goals
- Instrumental in hiring, training, coachings, counseling and evaluating performance
- Responsible for communication of agency policies and procedures to personal lines staff
- Works with Account Managers & Office Manager to ensure proper delegation of tasks
- Audits Account Manager’s work in order to train and evaluate
- Establishes and maintains referral networks
- Actively participates in CNR’s Executive Leadership Team meetings, as requested
